If I order today how soon will my item arrive?
We aim to despatch items within 48 hours of an order being placed.  We use a wide variety of delivery services and will always try to get the item to you as soon as possible.  Our standard delivery service takes 2-5 days but we also offer faster services for a small additional charge.  If you need the item urgently or it has to be delivered by a particular date, please indicate this when ordering.  If we are unable to guarantee delivery within your required time-frame, we will contact you to discuss the options available and refund your money if none of these are acceptable.

Do you deliver to countries outside the UK?
We will despatch items to most countries.  However in the case of large wooden jewellery boxes - which are very heavy - delivery charges for destinations outside the UK can be very high.  Delivery charges for most European countries are shown on the website but if you need further information or are ordering from a country not shown, please contact us at sales@boxofjewels.co.uk for a quote.

What kind of jewellery box should I buy?
The main things to consider are:

- what type of jewellery do you want to store in the jewellery box?  For example, if you have lots of necklaces you should look for a jewellery box with necklace hanging space.
- will the jewellery box be on display or will it be hidden away?  If the jewellery box will be visible, you need to look for one which will match or compliment your existing furniture and decor.
- do you like to take a selection of jewellery items with you when you travel?  If so, you may benefit from choosing a jewellery box which includes a separate travel jewel case or jewellery roll.

I'm not very comfortable with paying for items electronically over the internet.  How secure is your payment system?
Our electronic payments are handled by SagePay who are a fully approved Level 1 payment services provider, the highest level of compliance under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).  All transaction information is encrypted using 129-bit SSL certificates.  No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted.

I'm buying the item as a present.  What happens if the recipient doesn't like it?
Full details of our Returns and Refunds Policy is available under the Terms and Conditions section of the website.  So long as you notify us within the specified time period and item has not been used, we will normally refund your payment or provide a substitute item if you prefer.

I don't want to use the electronic payment system, can I pay by phone or cheque?
Unfortunately we can not accept payments over the phone but you are welcome to pay by cheque.  Please make your cheque payable to Box of Jewels Ltd and send it to us at Cortina, Sugar Lane, Hemel Hempstead, Herts HP1 2RT together with details of the item you require and the delivery address.
